There are identified 165 species of phytoplankton, 81 species of high plants, 91 species of zooplankton, 69 species of zoobenthos, 102 species of fish and 194 species of birds around the west side zone of Hongzehu lake.
洪泽湖湿地共鉴定出浮游植物165种、水生高等植物81种、浮游动物91种、底栖动物69种、鱼类102种、鸟类194种。

The analysis on watery environmental quality and polluting load of main pollutants of Hongzehu Lake showed that water quality was in category 3~4, main pollution load TN, TP was in first and second position, which were 30 9% and 29 0%, that the lake was in typical over nutritious state.
通过对洪泽湖水环境质量和主要污染物污染负荷的分析表明,目前湖体的水质处于Ⅲ类~Ⅳ类水状态,主要污染物的污染负荷TN、TP位居前两位,分别占309%和290%,湖泊呈典型的富营养化发展状态。
