用于治疗由于血液运行异常所致的瘀血证和出血证的治法。血液运行于血脉之中,环周不休，运行不息,以供给各脏腑组织器官的需要。气虚、跌扑损伤、寒热邪气等均可使血液的运行发生异常而形成瘀血证或出血证。瘀血证是由于血液运行不畅、或瘀滞、或体内离经之血未能消散而引起的病证，临床常见胸胁疼痛，瘀积包块，外伤瘀肿，妇女痛经，经闭，产后恶露不行等症。出血证是由于血液溢出血脉之外而引起的病证，常见的病证有吐血、咳血、衄血、便血、尿血、妇女崩漏等。瘀血证治疗宜用活血化瘀法。出血证治疗宜用止血法。
治疗瘀血证和出血证,须探致病原因，审因论治,理血法常与补气、清热、温经散寒等治法配合使用。
