Isatin- 3- semicarbazone was synthesized by condensation o f isatin with semicarbazide.

性质:橙红色单余棱柱结晶。熔点203.5℃(部分升华)。易溶于热乙醇,微溶于乙醚,溶于热水、苯、丙酮,溶于碱金属氢氧氧化物。溶液呈紫红色,放置后变成黄色,碱性极弱。有苦味。

制备方法:先由苯胺三氯乙醛肟缩合制得肟基乙酰苯胺,再经环合,水解制得靛红。

用途:该品用作染料和医药的中间体,用于生产药物辛可芬、染料分散黄E-3G;在化学分析中,是测定亚铜离子、硫醇、噻吩、尿蓝母的试剂。
