性质: 又名变胺蓝B,标准色基蓝,凡拉明蓝B,安安蓝。纯品为白色针状晶体。微溶于水,易溶于醇、醚、苯。硫酸盐为结晶性固体,能溶于水,与三氯化铁生成深蓝色溶液。盐酸盐为蓝色粉末,易溶于水,对光敏感。制法:对甲氧基苯胺与2-氯-5-硝基苯磺酸缩合、还原,得5-氨基-2-对甲氧基苯胺基苯磺酸,为后脱除磺酸基即得本品。分析上常用盐酸盐。用作络合滴定法中使用的氧化还原指示剂,其还原形为无色,氧化形为蓝色。
