The target of “MIAOWU” is “XINGQU” of which “xing” is images and “qu” is the spirit or interest.

【志愿】
  佛门很重视“发愿”。人的处境是由其行为 、语言造成的,而人的行为、语言又是由其思想决定的。愿从心起,并能产生一种主宰语言、行为的力量,故称“愿心”、“愿力”。佛教所说的发愿,是一种向上的善愿,如普度众生、志求解脱,乃至成就一件利国利民的善事等。“愿”有“总愿”和“别愿”。“总愿”如“四弘誓愿”:“众生无边誓愿度,烦恼无尽誓愿断,法门无量誓愿学,佛道无上誓愿成。”“别愿”如阿弥陀佛的“四十八愿”、药师佛的“十二大愿”、普贤菩萨的“十大愿王”等。又如修习净土宗的信徒,以“信、愿、行”为三大前提,必须发愿求生“西方净土”。隋·智顗《法界次第初门》卷上之下:“志求满足,故云愿也。”“志愿”是个同义复词,出于《华严经·入法界品》,弥勒菩萨称赞善财童子道:“此长者子,勇猛精进,志愿无杂,深心坚固,恒不退转,具胜希望,如救头然(燃),无有厌足,乐善知识,亲近供养,处处寻求,承事请法。”也泛指志向意愿。如晋·王羲之《与谢万书》:“老夫志愿,尽于此也。”(李明权)
