北津城遗址
【北津城遗址】位于长沙市岳麓区三汊矶。西依谷山，东临湘江，以水为防。整个城址呈三角形，面积约50万平方米。城址西北和西南有一道土筑城墙，长约2100米。夯土城墙南高北低，横断面呈梯形。南段城墙底宽约14米，上宽约7～8米，高约10米；北段城墙底宽约8米，上宽约4米，高约5～6米。城墙南北两方各有一自然缺口，俗称"北门口"、"南门口"。城墙外环绕一串水塘，当是原护城河的残迹。城内地势起伏不平，有一长片稻田自北门口到城南东折濒江，可能为原来城中水道之遗痕。1981年以来，长沙市文物工作队对此处及其周围进行了多次调查和部分试掘，在城墙夯土中及城内城墙附近，发掘出一批战国至西汉初年的遗物，有战国铜？、西汉筒瓦、板瓦、瓦当等。城外北面有一片土冈，冈上发现一批西汉中期的墓葬。城外西北为望城县谷山山脉，跨城址约1.5公里的两山峰顶之间有一块小坪，俗称"鞍子坪"。在坪中发掘出大批西汉时期的筒瓦和瓦当，坪下山脚处还发现一批西汉墓葬。城外西南约100米处有孤山一座，俗称"东瓜山"。从山脚至山顶，西汉筒瓦、瓦当碎片到处可见。考古材料证明，此处是西汉时期的古城遗址。
