Grid resolution is the basic property of grid DEM, the smaller grid resolution DEM may include more detailed topographical information, but in the same time it is required more computer capacity and increasing speed.
格网间距是格网DEM的基本属性,较小的格网间距可以囊括更多的地形信息,但同时需要的计算机容量和速度也相应增加,这不仅会造成大量的数据冗余给计算带来不便,还可能由于过分细小的地形描述而影响到解译宏观的地形特征;而较大的格网间距必然会损失大量的地形信息,从而使描述的对象失真,不能满足应用要求,因此有必要确定合适的DEM格网间距。
