Orthogonal experiments of(L_9(4~3)) were designed for each alcohol compounds and the effects of three factors(the kind of borate,concentration of alcohols and conditions of post-treatment) on the retention percentage of boron in the treated wood were investigated.

The effects of cold press pressure,sintering temperature and sintering time on oil reservation and oil retain were investigated;the model of predictive oil retain was designed by Back-Propagation Neural Network(BPNNN) and Radial Basis Function Neural Network(RBFNNN);training epochs and training goal of neural network were optimized with quasi-Newton method and Levenberg-Marquardt method.

The empirical study made by the author to assess the value of five firms with the focus on the customer, their most important intangible asset, shows that customer retention is most critical to a firm s value.
