C yuyQnC语言(c language)一种使用颇为广泛的程序设计语言。它由AT%26T公司Bell实验室的D.Rithie于1972年至1973年间在类似于BCPL(由英国剑桥大学的M.凡chards于1969年设计并实现的系统程序设计语言)的B上设计而成，故命名为C。首先在DECPDP一n机上实现，著名的Unix操作系统就是用C书写的。 C语言在很多方面继承和发扬了60年代出现的许多高级程序设计语言的成功经验和特色，它使用自由书写格式，具有丰富的数据类型，多种存储类别，一定程度的模块化结构，采用结构化的控制，函数参数传值，并支持分别编译等。主要特点是语言与运行支撑环境分离，语言规模小，相对简单，表示方法简洁，高度灵活，程序运行效率高，可移植性好;有不少操作直接对应于实际机器所执行的动作，在许多场合可代替汇编语言;大量使用指针，对运算时数据类型的一致性限制较少。 尽管最初是作为一种系统程序设计的工具语言设计的，但C已成功用于各个应用领域，是当前使用最广泛的一种通用程序设计语言。 1983年美国国家标准学会(ANSI)的X3Jll委员会开始进行C的标准化工作，国际标准化工作始于1985年(I段)门EC JTCI/义22 WG 14)，1990年公布的国际标准I岌〕/IEC9899以美国国家标准ANSIC为基础，是第一个支持多八位字符集的程序设计语言国际标准。我国国家标准等同采用了13〕/IEC 9899。为使C语言能更好地支持对全世界各国语言文字的处理，适应新的编码字符集国际标准13〕10647，以及进一步发展C语言，13D/IEC Jl℃1/义22WG14还在继续工作，预计1995年可正式公布C国际标准的补篇。
