 体长30-40cm,卵圆形侧扁。全身黑兰色,从头到尾柄有15-20条波形花纹,花纹末梢延长到臀鳍和背鳍边缘,花纹以鲜黄色和浅蓝色相间排列。从尾柄角度看,于体上的波纹恰似一试图如水中所形成的波状潋鳍,波光闪闪,非常美丽。饲养水温1.002-1.023,海水ph值8.0-8.5,还随硬度7-9度dh。饲料有切碎的鱼肉、水蚯蚓、海水鱼颗粒饲料等。水质要稳定。
