支配外部世界运动的规律，同样贯穿于人脑思维运动之中。唯物辩证法的规律不仅是客观世界的普遍规律，而且是人类思维的最一般规律。外部世界的规律和思维规律在本质上是同一的。这种同一，是通过实践的中介达到的,通过人们长期的、亿万次的社会实践的重复,使外部世界的规律反映的人的意识中并内化为思维的规律固定下来。但是，思维规律和外部世界的规律在表现上又有不同。外部世界的规律是以外部必然性的形式，在无穷无尽的表面的偶然性中不自觉地表现出来的；思维规律则表现为主观逻辑的形式，同人的有意识的自觉活动相联系。因此，思维规律虽然以外部世界的规律为基础，但它又具有相对的独立性和特殊性，成为逻辑科学研究的对象。
