原名《石头记》,清末书坊重印时曾改名为《金玉缘》。长篇小说。一百二十回。前八十回为清代曹雪芹作。后四十回一般认为系高鹗续补。主要描写封建世家大族贾府由盛到衰的过程及贾宝玉、林黛玉等青年男女的婚姻爱情悲剧,广泛而深刻地反映了封建社会的政治、经济和精神文化生活。作品结构宏大,语言优美、生动、传神,刻画人物尤为成功,塑造了贾宝玉、林黛玉、薛宝钗、王熙凤、晴雯等艺术形象。是中国古代优秀长篇小说中的杰出作品。
