| 萨奥雕塑 Sao sculptures 8～19世纪非洲乍得湖东南岸和沙里河三角洲的雕塑。此处的渔人被认为是萨奥人后裔。其雕塑艺术式样多样，分人物造型和动物造型两类。但很多作品中动物和人物特征融成一体。几乎没有写实形象，一部分陶塑头像是用程式化风格和装饰性手法完成，眼睛、鼻子和嘴好像长在平整的或稍微凸起的椭圆形面板上，几乎没有前额，眼睛和鼻梁凑到一起，眼睛和嘴的形状均呈咖啡豆形装饰成分，即画出或塑出的几何图案和花纹，多半集中在脸的上部分，或者表现文身。椭圆形、圆盘形或三角形的头部紧接在底座上，这个底座是头的延续部分。脸的各部分，或是塑造的，或是画在平面上的。另外神为兽形的宗教观念在小型萨奥雕塑品上也有所表现。 |
