分布于我国吉林、黑龙江、陕西、甘肃;国外见于西伯利亚东部、日本和朝鲜。
成虫体长17-19毫米，宽11-12毫米。体型椭圆，密披刻点。头部扁圆;触角棕褐，最末两节红色； 复眼黑色，单眼橘黄。前胸背板前角有小锐刺前侧缘稍内凹，并有小齿，但无刻点。前翅膜质片烟褐色，半透明。足红褐色，腿节上有黑点，各腔节外侧有浅沟;爪黑色。腹背红色，侧接缘黄黑相间。
在东北地区年发生1代。成虫在林间坑穴的腐质物下、树洞及石缝中过冬、5月间出蛰。成虫产卵干叶背，呈块状。成、若虫以榆、桦、蒙古栎及梨树为食。
