松辽盆地扶余油田主要含油层系为白垩系泉头组第三段(杨大城子油层)和第四段(扶余油层),其中扶余油层是主要开发层系,油藏描述和剩余油分布均已做过精细研究,而杨大城子油层受老井完钻井深较浅,杨大城子油层揭示不全,现有资料对未钻遇井区的油层发育情况认识不清,从未做过详细的油藏描述等研究工作。

吉林省白城地区辖市,中国重点商品粮基地之一。位于吉林省北部松嫩平原。隔江与黑龙江肇源县为邻。面积5541平方公里,人口95.54万。清初设伯都讷站,为吉林通往内蒙古交通要道。雍正四年(1726)增设长宁县。1913年改扶余县,1987年撤县设市(县级)。市境南、西南、北为松花江,东北为拉林河。南部沿江台地地势较高,海拔160~200米,耕地面积大,居全省第3位。主要为黑沙土和黑粘土。年均温3~6℃,无霜期140~150天,降水量450~550毫米。灌溉发达,农产以玉米、大豆著称。东部为大豆、高粱产区,中部为玉米产区,西部为谷子和小麦区。防护林基本达到林网化,对防风固沙,保证农业丰收起良好作用。扶余油田分布于市境西部,是中国已建成的石油生产基地之一。工业有农机修造、水泵、电机、石油化工、纺织、造纸、印刷和食品等。
