性质:可燃物在催化剂作用下燃烧。与直接燃烧相比,催化燃烧温度较低,燃烧比较完全。催化燃烧所用的催化剂为具有大比表面的贵金属和金属氧化物多组分物质。例如家用负载Pd或稀土化合物的催化燃气灶,可减少尾气中CO含量,提高热效率。负载0.2%pt的氧化铝催化剂,在500℃下,可将大多数有机化合物燃烧,脱臭净化到化学位移σ=1以下。催化燃烧为无焰燃烧,因此适用于安全性要求高的场合,如以H2和O2为原料的燃料电池、用汽油或酒精为原料的怀炉(催化剂为浸Pt石棉)等。如消除化工厂NOx的烟雾,可加燃料到烟雾中,通过负载型铂和钯催化剂,催化燃烧使NOx转化为N2气。
