nautical mile
(nautl以而le)航海中表示距离的非国际单位制单位，符号为n.心e，它是中国选定为只用于航程的法定计量单位。In而le=1 852m，曾称为国际海里。国际上并没有统一规定符号，n mile是英语中的习惯简写，中国用此作为符号，它与小时、节(航海中的速度单位)构成一贯制。海里在某些国家曾有不同的定义，但大多都与地球表面的圆周有关，相当于纬度1弧分的长度，故其准确值与所处地球的位里有关。自1928年起，大多数国家定义为1 852m，而美国在1954年才承认这一值，此前用美国海里。英国至今仍使用英国海里，即地球纬度48度处l弧分的长度，相当于60即n或等于1853.18lm。(施昌彦)
