自我否定型青年(se王f一negating youth)这类青年的主要特征是对“现实我”的认识和评价过低。所确定的“理想我”与“现实我”之间的距离太远，或差距太大，主观上又缺乏自我控制能力，心理上常处在一种自我的防御状态，其理想我与现实我的统一常是消极的。希望通过捷径，无需很多努力即可实现理想我，小小的失败都可能积累起来形成挫折感，挫折感积累又转化为自卑、自渺，对自己缺乏信心。他们不想通过积极地改变现实我去实现理想我，而是在一定程度上放弃理想我，保持现状，或进而否定现实我，加之心理上的自我暗示，结果越发自卑，有时不得己又为自己寻找“合理的理由”进行自我说服，以求得心理上的暂时平衡。成功了，认定是命运的恩赐，失败了，找个借口推，得过且过。 (白学军撰林索德审)
