在排演过程中负责记录的成员。他的任务是记录：①排演过程中导演的解释与要求；②导演对剧本的艺术特色、思想立意、人物形象的分析；③导演对舞台工作部门的要求；④重要的舞台场面的调度处理；⑤导演对效果、服装、化妆、灯光变化与开幕、闭幕的具体处理及从初排到彩排各场、各幕的进行速度时间和连排、演出时各方面的意见。此外，还须搜集、保管排演与演出的各种文献资料，建立剧目档案，最后系统地汇编"演出本"（即汇编"演出资料集"）等等。场记还应协助剧务记录排演与演出时的工作情况。有的演出组织不设场记职务，其工作由剧务负责。
