又名孟酮。学名2-异丙基-5-甲基环已酮。无色液体。分子量154.25。密度0.890-0.894g/cm3。沸点205℃。折射率1.450。不溶于水。溶于大多数有机溶剂。以1:3溶于70％乙醇。具有特有的类似药材的香气。
生产方法：主要采用氧化法。以薄荷醇为原料，经氧化反应而得。也可从天然薄荷、老鹳草、芳须芒草等天然原料中，经精馏提取而得。
用途：酮类合成香料。主要用作薄荷、薰衣草、玫瑰等香精的调合香料。也用于香叶天竺葵油等的调配。
