性质：单萜烯酮的一种。存在于北非产的薄荷Mentha pulegium Var.rillona Benth.的精油中，与薄荷二烯酮(piperitenone)共存。纯品分离不出来，与薄荷二烯酮的混合物为无色液体，具有类似相薄荷酮(pulegone)的气味。沸点97℃(333.35Pa)。相对密度0.9738。旋光度[α]D-2.16°；折射率1.5284。经铂黑处理，很易变为百里香酚。加氢成异薄荷脑。用作调香剂。
