【来源】
为夹竹桃科植物海南狗牙花的根。
【植物形态】
海南狗牙花 灌木，高1～3米，全株光滑。根直而粗长，很少分枝。幼枝有棱角，含多量乳汁。叶对生，每对大小不等，长卵形，长5～10厘米，宽2～4厘米，先端急尖，基部楔形；具柄。聚伞花序腋生；萼5裂，里面有腺体；花白色，花冠高脚碟状，管圆柱形，中部或中部以上稍膨大，裂片5，扩展；雄蕊着生于冠管的中部或中部以上，内藏，花药与柱头分离；心皮2个，分离。蓇葖果2个呈叉开的牛角形，有弯嘴，熟时红色。花期夏季。 生于山坡、丘陵的灌木丛中。分布广东等地。 本植物的叶(单根木叶)亦供药用，另详专条。

全年可采，洗净，切片，晒干。

【功用主治】
