| 旌节花科 Stachyuraceae 双子叶植物纲五桠果亚纲的一科。落叶或常绿灌木，或小乔木，有时攀援状，常具极叉开的分枝。单叶，互生，膜质或革质，边缘具锯齿，具托叶，早落。总状花序或穗状花序腋生，直立或下垂，无柄或具短柄。花整齐，两性、杂性或雌雄异株，无梗或具短梗；具苞片1枚，小苞片2枚，小苞片基部连合；萼片4，花瓣4；雄蕊8，2轮，房上位，4室，胚珠多数。浆果，球形，具多数种子，具假种皮。仅1属16种，为东亚温带地区所特有，其分布中心为中国的西南地区和日本。中国有11种，分布于秦岭以南的广大地区，而以西南地区（云南和四川）为最盛。喜马山旌节花、云南旌节花、柳叶旌节花和中国旌节花等的茎、枝髓常代传统中药通草入药；有利尿、催乳、清湿热的功能。
