"Ecological rucksack" is a comprehensive indicator that can be used to quantify such impacts.

By analyzing the ecological footprint and the ecological rucksack of cars, this paper points out that the environmental load of car’s entering into families can not exceed environment carrying capabilities and then puts forward the countermeasures that reduce car environmental load.
