【交易帐户创新】在商业银行开立交易帐户的客户可以通过支票、汇票、电话转帐、自动出纳机(Auto叮田tic TellerM舰hae)、遥控现金收付机或其他电脑设施提款或对第三者支付款项。现在的交易帐户主要有三大类:活期存款、可转让支付命令帐户和超级可转让支付命令帐户，以及自动转帐帐户。 1.活期存款创新 活期存款包括全部活期存款帐户或者是银行无权要求客户取款时事先书面通知的存款。活期存款的形式有支票存款帐户、保付支票、本票、旅行支票、消费信用证、转帐卡等等。活期存款上的创新主要有以下几种方式: 第一，对活期存款帐户的非利息补贴。美国在1933年以前，对活期存款都支付利息。1933年，国会通过法律，禁止对活期存款支付利息，此后，商业银行便不再向活期存款支付利息。但为了吸揽存款，银行之间普遍开展了非价格竞争即通过向存款者提供种种好处、便利，例如增设支行、给予额外酬金、提供补贴性服务项目等等，以此使客户获得非利息收益，从而吸引客户。到1976年，银行获准开立可转让支付命令帐户，可以对活期存款支付利息，打破了对活期存款不得支付利息的限制。1986年美国废除《Q条例》，各银行纷纷开始对活期存款支付利息。但与此同时，在活期存款上的非价格竞争并未消失，相反花样不断翻新。因为企业在开立活期存款帐户时，更关心的是银行的稳妥可靠，以及其金融服务范围。第二，交易工具创新。活期存款帐户是可开支票的存款帐户，支票作为最为平常的交易手段为人们所熟悉。但支票的使用也会遇到某些不便，譬如因担心支票有效性而拒收，这时候，银行保付支票、银行本票就能够克服普通支票信用不足的缺陷。以后，又有了许多改进，出现了支票保证制度、旅行支票、转帐卡等等。 所谓支票保证制度是一种交易工具的创新。欧洲国家的银行使用支票保证信用卡保证支票的信誉，这种支票保证信用卡实际上是由银行根据开票人的信用状况确认其具有开出支票的认可身份和法律程序。凡使用支票保证信用卡的客户，通过电子计算机网络系统进行信用鉴定，可以在欧洲任何一个国家和地区开出支票，而不会被拒绝接受。使用支票保证信用卡者，必须支付一定的手续费。北美使用的支票保证系统是商业系统内的一种保证制度，零含业者在接受支票时要求持票人提供信用、职业等三种以上的确认本人身份的证件。这种支票保证制度使得信用卡和自动出纳系统得到了长足的发展。 旅行支票作为一种新的支付方式是近十多年才发展起来的。
