又称磷酸氢钙，或沉淀磷酸钙，俗称沉淀磷肥，一种中性的磷酸钙盐磷肥。有无水物（CaHPO4）和二水物(CaHPO4·2H2O)两种。磷酸二钙微溶于水,溶于枸橼酸铵(柠檬酸铵)溶液，属枸溶性磷肥。外观呈干燥、松散和不吸湿的白色细小结晶。二水物纯品含42.26％P2O5,商品含38％～40％P2O5。无水物纯品含52.20％ P2O5，商品含46％～48％P2O5。氟、砷和重金属等杂质含量低于饲料级的产品可作含磷钙的饲料添加剂，纯度高的产品还可以用作食品添加剂、医药和塑料助剂。
磷酸二钙是硝酸磷肥、氨化过磷酸钙和含有氨化过磷酸钙的复合肥料中的组分。专门生产肥料用磷酸二钙工厂比较少，但是有工业副产盐酸或废盐酸的地方，也可用盐酸分解磷矿，然后分两段分别用石灰石粉悬浮液和石灰乳中和，沉淀出磷酸二钙，经过滤、洗净和干燥后，第一段产品作肥料，第二段产品作饲料添加剂。直接用石灰石粉中和经过脱砷的热法磷酸或经过脱氟净化的湿法磷酸，也可以制得磷酸二钙饲料添加剂。
