| 孟斐斯 Memphis 古埃及城市。位于今尼罗河三角洲南部，上下埃及交界的米特·拉辛纳村。其名称起源于第六王朝(约前 2345 ～前2181)国王佩皮一世的名为 Men-nefer 的金字塔，希腊人讹称为孟斐斯。传说该城约在公元前3100年由第一王朝第一王美尼斯所建，最初称为白城( 城市的泥砖墙涂以白石膏粉 )。孟斐斯是古埃及的政治、宗教、文化中心之一，古王国时代(约前2686～前2181)建都于此。中王国和新王国时代迁都底比斯，孟斐斯仍不失为重要城市之一。公元前1000年后，库施王国、亚述、波斯帝国、希腊、罗马帝国等先后围攻、占领过孟斐斯，公元7世纪阿拉伯人征服埃及 ， 孟斐斯遭到毁灭性破坏。 |
