周围神经纤维终止于其他组织的结构。分两大类:①传入神经元的周围突末梢,称感受器,分布于身体某些部位的上皮组织、结缔组织和肌组织内,分别感受痛、温、触、压觉及肌纤维的伸展、收缩变化等。②传出神经元的轴突末端,分布在肌肉和腺体等器官的效应细胞,与之构成突触,支配肌肉的收缩与舒张、腺体的分泌等。
