In this paper, it is proved that any couple of matrices over a principal ideal domain (or PID) have a right greatest common divisor and any couple of nonsingular matrices have a left least common multiple, and also, any nonsingular and irreversible matrix over a PID can be expressed as product of finite number of prime matrices.
