形态特征:
根圆柱状，茎直立，幼苗期呈莲座状，基部有红色长毛，叶互生，茎下部分有柄，上部的叶无柄；叶片长圆状或披针形，边缘有疏细锯齿，两面被白色柔毛。花单生于枝端叶腋，排成疏穗状，萼管细长。花白至粉红色，花径达8厘米以上，5至10月花开不断。
分布与习性:
华南地区喜光，耐寒，忌积水。
繁殖与栽培:
播种秋季或春季育苗。种子播种后，土壤要保持湿润，播种后10-15天左右，种子即可萌发。适应性强，耐酸耐旱，对土壤要求不严，一般中性、微碱或微酸性疏松的土壤上均能生长。但土壤太湿，根易得病。
应用:
开花美丽，夜晚开放，香气宜人，适于点缀夜景，配合其它绿化材料。可用于庭院沿边布置或假山石隙点缀，也宜作大片地被花卉。
