This paper took Xiniutan reservoir reinforcement as a example,discussed how to use pluriennal regulation methods to calculate the quantity of runoff and irrigation,and defined irrigation storage capacity in the end.

Based on the observation data of seepage quantity obtained from the dam of a annual storage reservoir and that of a pumped storage power station,the regularities and characteristic values are analyzed,the statistical model and regression model are established,and the affecting components are calculated by quantitative analysis.

The paper introduces the composition of effluent from Chengmenshan Copper Mine and determines the storage capacity of effluent regulating reservoir through the comparison of calculation results between typical-year method and multi year regulation method on the premise of effluent outflow not more than 5 000 m3/d.
