Glycyrrhiza uralensis;licorice root

   豆科甘草属的一种。多年生草本;茎带木质。奇数羽状复叶;小叶3~8对,卵圆形,先端尖或钝。总状花序腋生,萼钟状,有5齿;花冠紫红或紫蓝色,旗瓣卵圆形,有短柄,翼瓣和龙骨瓣,均具长柄。荚果弯曲成镰刀状或环状,外面密布褐色细刺。其根及根状茎粗大,圆柱形,剥去外皮呈黄色,含甘草甜素,性平、味甘,有和中缓急、清热解毒、补脾和胃、调和诸药之功,又用作烟草加料剂及蜜饯、糖果的香料。
