Influence of the steel rate to the confining force of self stress light weight aggregate concrete filled steel tubes;

In this paper,concrete filled steel tube short column with dumbbellshaped cross section is studied by finite element method,further analysis on the influence of concrete grade and steel ratio on confining force,and stress distribution and other properties of the core concrete in web cavity of the column under load is carried out.

Through experimental investigation of confinement effect of core lightweight aggregate concrete(LWAC) confined by steel tube,the stress-strain relations of the core LWAC under axial compression and failure modes of the specimens thereof are obtained,and the confinement effect and strength criterion of the LWAC are then analytically studied in details.
