breccia

   沉积碎屑岩的一种。由大于2毫米的棱角状的砾石胶结而成。组成角砾岩的碎屑物质,一般因原地堆积或搬运距离很短,因此磨圆度极低,分选很差,形状各异,棱角分明  。按形成原因可分为岩溶角砾岩、火山角砾岩、山麓堆积角砾岩、冰川角砾岩、断层角砾岩(亦称构造角砾岩)、成岩角砾岩以及陨石撞击角砾岩等。研究角砾岩可帮助恢复古地理环境,推断构造变动,有些矿产与角砾岩有关。
