西班牙王室最早设立的管理美洲殖民地贸易的机构。1503年设于塞维利亚。1717年迁往加的斯港,受西班牙印度等地事务院管辖。其职能是：为从事殖民地贸易的船只颁发许可证,检查宗主国和美洲之间的货物和书籍,征收商品出口税和接纳殖民地所交的各种税款与金银，审理与殖民地贸易和海运有关的诉讼案件，开办航线测量局和航海学校等。1545年塞维利亚商会成立，负责处理商人之间的纠纷，贸易署不再管理商务诉讼，职权逐渐缩小。1780年王国政府机构调整，贸易署被解散。
