说起台湾小吃,很多人马上就联想到"度小月"担仔面。一点不错,它几乎是台南最有名的一道小吃。可为什么叫"度小月"呢?原来90多年前,一位漳州籍洪姓渔人移民府城,靠打渔为生。每年从清明到中秋,是打渔的淡季,当地叫"小月"。为养家活口,度过"小月",洪姓渔人就卖起面来,因此得名。由于口味独到,渐渐卖出了名气,成为风行台湾的"名吃"。现在,洪家已传到第三代,生意还是相当兴隆。

担仔面的最大特色,在于它的肉臊。早期,老板挑着碗筷与锅子到处叫卖,买者半蹲式地坐在小凳上食用。今天,卖者仍用一个小炉烧着木炭来煮肉臊,再加上一只味道鲜美的虾子,虽然就这么小小一碗,但风味独特,回味无穷。
