As a example of a residential district,analysis of the economical efficiency of different modes of district cooling systems is carried on in initial investment and operation cost in order to supply reference to the correct choosing of cold source of distrct cooling system.

The feasibility of using geothermal water, underground water, geothermal energy (thermal energy of soil), solar energy, electric boiler and gas-fired boiler as heat and cooling sources for radiant heating and cooling system is discussed.

By review and inspection for a large shopping plaza cooling source,the result shows that district cooling source is more conducive to energy conservation in large-scale shopping plaza with diversified commercial formats and different formats business hours,correspondingly,higher requirements for the air-conditioner system design and operation management were put forward.
