性质:无色透明可燃液体,低毒。熔点-75℃(凝固点-65.7℃),沸点199.4-201.4℃(101.3kPa),相对密度0.9668(20/4℃),折射率1.4070,蒸气压39.4Pa(20℃),闪点86.1℃。溶于水并分解生成丁酸,溶于乙醚。

制备方法:丁酐可由丁酰氯与丁酸钠共热而得,或由丁酸与乙酐交换法制备。丁酸和乙酐在触媒存在下加热进行反应得丁肝,副产醋酸,然后经分离、精制即得成品。其他的制法有丁酸用一氯化硫处理,或丁酸与乙烯酮(或二乙烯酮)反应,或丁酸与甲基乙炔反应,都可得到丁酐。

用途:制备丁乙酸纤维素、丁酸酯类和香料的原料。在医药上作胆囊造影剂碘泛酸的原料。
