性质:芳樟醇为天然芳樟油、伽罗木油、玫瑰木油等的主成分,并均为左旋异构体;存在于胡荽子油、香紫菌油等中的则均为右旋异构体: 右旋体[126-90-9]沸点198-200℃,相对密度 0.8733(20℃),旋光率 +19.3(20℃) ,左旋体[126-91-0]沸点198℃,相对密度 0.8622(20℃),旋光率 -20.1(20℃)。芳樟醇为无色液体。.能与乙醇、乙醚混溶,不溶于水和甘油。溶易发生异构化,但在碱中比较稳定,闪点76℃。

制备方法:市售芳樟醇主要从伽罗木油、玫瑰木油、胡荽子油、芳樟油等天然精油中分离而得。用高效分馏柱分馏,可得芳樟醇粗品,进行第二次分馏分得含量90%以上的成品。合成的芳樟醇以β-蒎烯为原料,热解生成月桂烯,用氯化氢处理后生成包括里那基氯的混合物。里那基氯与苛性钾(或碳酸钾、碳酸钙)作用得到芳樟醇。

用途:芳樟醇是一种重要的香料,是各种人造精油的调合原料,也大量用于制造芳樟醇的各种酯。芳樟醇及基酯类的香水等化妆品配方中占有重要的地位。芳樟醇经氧化生成柠檬醛,也可用于合成其他许多香料。
