性质:无色或黄绿色针状结晶,可燃,有毒。熔点109-110℃,沸点384℃,250-251℃(7.99kPa),相对密度1.252,折射率1.0996(18.7℃)。不溶于水,稍溶于乙醇,可溶于二硫化碳、醋酸,易溶于乙醚、苯类。紫外线下显荧光。

制备方法:从煤焦油中回收。提取荧蒽的最好原料是Ⅱ蒽油和沥青氧化过程中的馏出物(油类),将这些原料放入间歇式直接火加热的蒸馏,同时往锅内通入少量过热馏锅内,在真空度0.09MPa下进行蒸馏,同时往锅内通入少量过热蒸气。馏出的蒸气经过精馏塔,分凝器和冷却器,冷却到高于熔点的温度,流入受糟,取375-358℃馏出物进行结晶,离心脱油后得到粗荧蒽。粗荧蒽用混合溶剂(30%轻溶剂油和70%乙醇)重结晶即得成品,对375-385℃窄馏分的收率为40%,荧蒽的纯度可达99%。

用途:用作非磁性金属表面探伤荧光剂,合成黄色、蓝色还原染料,制造医药等。
