生产方法 主要采用酯化法。以山梨醇为原料，先在真空和加热下进行脱水环化，生成失水山梨醇，然后与棕榈酸进好酯化反应而得。
用途 非离子型表面活性剂。主要用作膏霜类化妆品的油包水型乳化剂。通常与亲水性表面活性剂配合使用，尤其与吐温类表面活性剂复配使用，可发挥其优良的乳化性能。另外也可用作分散剂和稳定剂。
