根据油水置换原理设计的一种储油装置,有钢结构和混凝土结构两种。1960年首先在墨西哥湾出现,容积为3180m3。1972年在北海建成了一座容积160000m3的混凝土储油罐。海底储油罐的优点是:①避开海面波浪的冲击,减少了水平力的作用;②与火源隔绝,比较安全;③不受天气影响,保证油井连续生产;④维持费用低。缺点是:①建造周期长;②要求海底比较平坦;③高凝原油不宜水下储存。
