性质:又称四氯对苯二酚。鳞片状晶体(由苯重结晶)。熔点232~236℃。在空气中加热时,发生部分分解,升华成针状结晶。经醋酸重结晶,得含醋酸的针状结晶(熔点101℃),此结晶放置空气中即失去醋酸。本品易溶于乙醇、乙醚,难溶于醋酸,几乎不溶于苯、二硫化碳、四氯化碳、石油醚,不溶于水。溶于氢氧化钾水溶液,遇空气迅速变成红棕色,放置之,即产生氯冉酸(chloranilic acid,即2,5-二氯-3,6-二羟基对苯醌)的沉淀。遇氧化剂,容易产生四氯苯醌,可在稀乙醇或氨水中使硝酸银还原。制法:由三氯对苯醌与浓盐酸煮沸。或将四氯对苯醌用羟胺、肼、SnCl2、SO2或赤磷与氢碘酸等还原以制取之。用为有机合成原料(制对苯二酚),高分子化合物的中间体,以及农业杀菌剂。
