Wall Calligraphy is a kind of new calligraphy style produced with the change of the architectural style to hang the wall calligraphy after the capital moved to another place during the Yongle period in the Ming Dynasty.
通过对文献资料和传世实物的考察,考证了悬壁书法的滥殇及其在明清建筑中的装饰作用和方式,指出悬壁书法是在明代永乐迁都之后,随着建筑风格的改变产生的一种新的书法式样,突出了书法的装饰功能,要求书法作品与环境融为一体,达到装饰环境的目的。

补充资料：敦煌悬泉置遗址
悬泉置遗址，位于敦煌城东60公里三危山北麓的戈壁滩上，遗址总面积22500平方米。1990至1992年省、市考古队在北挖掘弥足珍贵的汉简15000枚及丰富的皮毛、丝绸、纸张、粮食、铜铁等遗址17650件，震动了全国考古界，被誉为本世纪文史资料第五次大发现。悬泉置遗址历经西汉至魏晋，延续近400年。它的发掘，将给方兴未艾的丝绸之路热增添新的情趣，极大地丰富了敦煌艺术宝库的内容。目前，悬泉置遗址已被列为省级文物保护单位。
