性格：稍有神经过数，易亲近且忠于主人。
特征：脸眉上有花纹，小立耳，躯体匀称，多毛的尾卷曲在背上。上部毛长而粗而且密牛，下部毛柔软。毛色浓淡不均，肩部有亮灰色的斑点，春夏换毛期时会脱掉很多毛，届时不用大惊小怪。
历史与用途：属北方丝毛犬种。颈、胸周围的披毛直立，后肢肴起来象穿着骑马服一样。
起初，德国的猎狼丝毛犬在荷兰被改良，当作运河上看护船只的犬种。数世纪以来一直为荷兰人所喜爱。1900年左右被介绍到英国。
知名度：在欧美诸国较有名气。
