翠屏山位于浙江黄岩澄江之北,与临海市接壤。南宋大学问家朱熹、右丞相杜范、明礼部尚书黄绾都曾在此留下足迹和诗文。灵岩洞下侧石刻,一处是《与郑继之紫霄夜坐》(70字)、《赠少谷出山》(45字)两诗,另 一处用红漆一笔一笔勾画,只可辨认其诗题《少谷亭怀郑子》,郑子即黄绾同朝挚友“闽南十才子”之一的郑继之。从灵岩寺而上,过竹林能清楚地看到“少谷峰”三字,此亦为黄绾手笔。细观,“少”字略小,余两字各约35厘米宽,40厘米高。沿书院基上方山径,斜插上灵岩水库,然后 越过山脊循涧底向上穿行百来步,见左边壁立山岩有斑斑勒字,这就是人们踏破铁鞋无觅处的朱岩石刻。从右至左是《新开凌霄岭》(55字)、《荷锄》(52字)、《紫霄吟》(63字)。翠屏山摩崖石刻,琳琅满目,而且大多保存完好,实是难得。现已辟为旅游景点。
