Under the influence of the rule-of-virtue concept and an ethic culture,ancient Chinese education pays more attention to character building and virtue acquisition aiming at personal improvement though it plays its natural role of spreading knowledge.
受古代德治理念以及伦理型文化的影响,中国古代教育固然重视传道授业解惑,重视知识的传承和传播,但更为强调教育的目的旨在修身和立德的人格塑造和品德培养,由此中国古代教育也呈现出鲜明的以"成德"为轴心的价值追求。

广西中医学院成人教育始于1958年，至今已为社会培养了10000多名合格的高级中医药人才。多年来，为了适应社会主义医药卫生事业和经济建设需要，在学院“团结、务实、创新”的精神鼓舞下，成教院在教学管理、办学规模、办学层次及办学质量等方面都上了一个新的台阶。目前已从原来的小规模、低层次、形式单一的办学发展为现在拥有中医学、中西结合、临床医学、护理学、药学等本专科15个专业类别，并有分布在全区各主要地市的教学点，从而形成了专科、本科和学士学位教育，函授、脱产、业余、自学考试教育等多专业、多层次、多形式的办学体系,开创了我院成人教育的新局面。
