| 周臣 中国明代画家。字舜卿，号东邨。生卒年不详，活跃于15世纪后半叶至16世纪上半叶。吴（今江苏苏州）人。能词，善画，工山水、人物。山水初师陈暹，后遍师宋元名家，对李唐、刘松年用功尤深；作品笔墨纯熟精微，清秀尖劲，构图清旷周密。人物题材多样，功力深厚，造型奇古，意态绵密萧散。周臣的绘画在当时颇有影响，唐寅、仇英等曾随其学画，但时人对其评价不高，认为缺少书卷气。有《香山九老图》、《闲看儿童拽柳花图》、《山亭纳凉图》、《春山游骑图》等传世。 |
