长阳土家族自治县 位于中国湖北省西南部,清江中、下游。面积3722平方千米。人口42.77万,民族以汉族、土家族为主。西汉初置佷山县。隋开皇八年(588)改长杨县。唐武德元年(618)改长阳县。1984年置长阳土家族自治县。矿产有煤、铁、锰、汞、重晶石、石灰石等。锰储量3762万吨,有湖北锰田之称。农产有玉米、薯类、豆类、小麦、油菜。畜牧业以饲养猪羊为主,山羊板皮为地方名产。林业资源丰富,林副产品有茶叶、桐油、棕片、柑橘等。棕片产量居全国首位,油桐和宜红茶也占一定地位。资丘皱皮木瓜、青岩五倍子、金福红栀果为地方名产。名胜古迹有钟家湾长阳人遗址(见长阳人)、盐池温泉等。 |
