补充资料：炮舰外交
帝国主义列强凭借武力威胁，推行其殖民侵略的一种外交活动，亦称炮舰政策。其典型表现在19世纪中叶，殖民主义者派遣海军舰船远征海外，抵达亚非国家口岸，或驶入内河,强使这些国家屈服,签订不平等条约，以达到侵略的目的。如1840年英国对中国发动第一次鸦片战争,利用炮舰强迫中国开放门户,经过两次鸦片战争，英、法、俄、美等国迫使清政府签订一系列不平等条约，使中国逐步沦为半殖民地。1854年美国派遣海军准将 M.C.佩里率4艘军舰开到日本江户,迫使日本开国，至1858年，日本德川幕府先后同美、荷、俄、英、法5国缔结友好通商条约（总称《安政条约》），把日本推向半殖民地的边缘。今日的炮舰外交，已成为帝国主义推行其实力政策的一个组成部分。
